Meanwhile in school, some other scarecrows gave the neighbours a fright!!!
Our finished scarecrows were proudly displayed in Leap village! They didn't win but we were very proud of them!
Meanwhile in school, some other scarecrows gave the neighbours a fright!!! Last Friday we brought all the children to the Heritage Centre in Skibbereen, to visit their Famine Exhibition. Philip O' Regan took us around, helped the children to fill in their worksheets, and told us some very interesting stories about local people who suffered or helped during the famine. He was very impressed at how much the children already knew, as they had been learning about the famine for the last few weeks in both History and Geography. It was a really worthwhile outing! And it's not just for schools, see HERE for more information!
We are renewing our Active Flag this year, and are already working well at being very active! We do the "Daily Mile" whenever it isn't too wet (a bit of drizzle won't melt us!) and have started the annual round of varied PE activities! We have begun with folk dancing lessons, with Larry and Ita. As can be seen from the photos below, this is enjoyed by all! During this year we will also be doing Yoga, Swimming, Golf.... and all the regular PE lessons as well! |
