We are located in the parish of Drimoleague and Drinagh, south of Drimoleague, and west of Drinagh. There are signposts on the Skibbereen Drimoleague road and at Drinagh to help you find us.
We are a small but vibrant school, catering for boys and girls. We welcome, cherish and respect children of all abilities and from all backgrounds and traditions. The school is a Catholic run school but we have children of many faiths and none and all are equally welcome. Children are taught to treat others with respect and dignity at all times, and to do their best in every aspect of school and life. We pride ourselves on our kindness to children and their families, and our caring, inclusive, diverse and supportive school community.
We believe in providing a rounded education for our children and make full use of our space and resources to provide this. There is something for everyone so as well as all academic subjects, we do baking sessions every week, we love Art, Music and Gardening, we go walking in the locality most weeks, we play chess, we reached the Regional final in Debating in 2019 and have taken a number of projects to the RDS Science Fair. We have a wonderful outdoor space to play in, with a playing field, basketball court, a basket swing that is loved by all and a ‘forest’ that is the location of many adventures!
This year we became part of the Ludgate Hub Google for Education Project. We bought laptops for all the senior children and the younger children have the use of ipads. During lockdown the older students took their laptops home which made working remotely much easier. We had ‘live’ classes with the children every day and it was wonderful for teachers and children to have this contact, even if it is across a screen!
We have also recently bought state of the art Clevertouch interactive screens which are a super aid to education.
